  • Eggplant
  • Beef Sirloin (Our unmarinated Beef Short Ribs work as well)
  • Sprouts
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Olive Oil

  • Soy Sauce
  • Olive Oil
  • Lemon Juice
  • Minced Garlic
  • Minced Green Chili Pepper

  1. Mix 2 parts soy sauce, 1 part olive oil, 1 part lemon juice, 0.5 part minced garlic, and 0.5 part minced green chili pepper to create the sauce.
  2. Slice the eggplant thin
  3. Trim the fat off the sirloin and slice it thin and slightly larger than the eggplant slices.
  4. In a pan with oil, sear the beef on high heat until golden brown, locking in the juices.
  5. Season the beef lightly with salt and pepper, and sear each side once on high heat.
  6. Plate in this order: eggplant, beef, sprouts, and sauce.

  • The key to this dish is achieving a golden sear on the beef, enhancing its flavor and retaining its juices.
  • These canapés are not only easy to make but also make a great dish for housewarmings or special occasions.
  • The combination of the umami-rich sauce and fresh ingredients brings out the best in both the eggplant and beef.
