This Spicy Pork Belly with Shishito Peppers is a delightful combination of succulent pork belly and the peppery goodness of shishito peppers. Ingredients:
- Pork belly, 300g (our 1/4 Inch Cut Premium Pork Belly works well)
- Shishito peppers, a handful
- Cheongyang chili peppers, 5 (can substitute with Bird's Eye Chili/Thai Chili)
- Green onion, 20 cm
Sauce
- Sugar, 1 spoon
- Water, 1/2 cup
- Minced garlic, 1 spoon
- Soy sauce, 1/3 cup
Instructions:
- Cut the pork belly into bite-size pieces.
- Prepare the shishito peppers by cutting them into five equal parts.
- Slice the green onions.
- Finely chop the Cheongyang chili peppers.
- In a pan, stir-fry the pork belly until it turns golden brown.
- Once the pork belly is browned, add the green onions and continue stir-frying.
- Add sugar and water to the pan.
- Stir in minced garlic and soy sauce, then add the shishito peppers and Cheongyang chili peppers. Stir-fry everything together until fully cooked.
